www.google.ca takes the time to commemorate the Canadian penny as it officially heads into retirement starting today. There’s still about 6 billion in circulation so there’s no way of knowing how long until they are phased out completely, but the government estimates scrapping the coin will save them about 11 million dollars a year. My favourite decision that has been made by this government so far!
